STAFF TRAINING & DRIVERS’ TRAINING INSTITUTE, VIRAZOUMA, DIMAPUR

The Department has established a Staff Training Institute which is now combined with the Drivers’ Training Institute at Virazouma, Dimapur. The institute regularly conducts in-service training for Officers and Staff to update their skills and efficiency on relevant topics like Office Procedures, Traffic Management, Accounting, Technical Matters, etc. in coordination with Agencies like TATA MOTORS and Petroleum Conservation and Research Association of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The NST Staff Training Institute also conduct seminars/ workshops to create awareness on

Pollution Control, Oil Conservation, Fuel Efficiency, Road Safety, Disaster Management, HIV-AIDS etc.

The Drivers’ Training Institute at Virazouma, Dimapur is functioning with a Joint-venture with M/s. TATA MOTORS Ltd. having administrative building with theory classrooms, tools & cut-model aggregates rooms, Heavy and Light electronic driving simulators, hostel and mess facilities with an intake capacity of 400 trainees in a year, impart training to aspiring drivers ranging from 1(one) Month for Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) and 3(Three) Months for Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) course/duration at nominal fee as prescribed from time to time. The Institute is equipped with standard driving tracks, 2(Two) Nos. Buses,1(One)Tipper Truck, dual driving wheel Light Vehicle Gypsy, TATA Sumo and Magic each.

The Trainers and Instructors of the Institute are drawn from the qualified serving Engineers, experienced Officers and Staff of the Department. Resource persons from Medical and Legal fields are invited from time to time to educate the trainees on relevant topics or issues.
